Wretched Press

This is Wretched Press, and we’re new. Our first publication is BLTN (bulletin), a monthly zine that chronicles local music, art, and occasionally, personal opinions from our contributors. We’re not attempting hard-hitting journalism; we just want to bring Boston art to you and have fun while doing it.

We could have quietly published BLTN as an analog, print-only project, dropped a few copies around Boston and kept that up forever, but that didn’t seem quite right. We needed a foundation from which to launch it, because there was always a chance it could go well. And if it went well, maybe someone else would want to publish something. And wouldn’t it be nice if we could help them?

Wretched Press was created to be a springboard for writing, music, and art, whatever that may mean. There are so many things that are created in Boston – the city is more vibrant than we give it credit for – but there aren’t many in-between avenues to express that vibrancy.

Especially not in a way you can touch.

It’ll be a climb, sure, and we’ll have to be very dedicated, but creating a welcoming space to showcase our artists is possible. We want art of all kinds. Music, performance, fashion, food. Good, bad, mediocre – whatever.

Our BLTN editor’s mission is to get people to own their own individuality, and Wretched is the place we hope to help them express it.

If you have any questions, want to give us a heads-up on some good music or art to check out, or want to write for us, you can email us directly at bltnn.info@gmail.com.
